89 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Health the measures, if any, the Government will use to encourage the EU Council of Ministers to adopt and implement the report entitled Proposal for Community Support for Actions in favour of Older People; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6748/95]
Limerick East): This proposal from the European Commission is expected to be on the agenda of the June meeting of the Council of Ministers for Social Affairs. I would like to assure the Deputy that the Government's representative at that meeting will support the proposal and urge Ministers from other member states to give a positive response.
