Vol. 451 No. 8

Written Answers. - Tallaght (Dublin) Hospital.

Ivor Callely

Question:

92 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Health if the recent announcement of a £31.6 million EU grant for the construction and equipping of the Tallaght Hospital will impact on any aspect of the project; if the position remains as indicated in reply to parliamentary questions on the subject in May of 1994 and March of 1995; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7582/95]

Limerick East): I wish to reassure the Deputy that the position in relation to the funding and completion date for the Tallaght Hospital is as indicated in recent replies to previous parliamentary questions. I am optimistic that the target completion date of December 1996 will be achieved. Once construction work has been finalised, the necessary resources will be made available for equipping and commissioning purposes and the hospital is scheduled to open in 1997, as planned.
