Written Answers. - Competition Authority Report.
I will announce my decision on the action which I propose to take arising from the Interim Report of the Competition Authority of its study on the Newspaper Industry in May.
The matter has already been considered by the Government and the summary, conclusions and recommendations of the report have been published.
Before reaching a decision, I intend to give the major interests in the newspaper industry an opportunity to make known to me their future plans and intentions in the situation that now exists following the conclusions of the Competition Authority. I have written to the principal parties in this regard.
