97 Mr. M. Kitt asked the Minister for the Environment if he will visit the town of Tuam in order to view areas which have been selected by the Tuam Town Commissioners for urban renewal; and when a decision will be made to include Tuam in the scheme. [9227/95]
I am aware of the cases made for designation of many towns throughout the country, including Tuam, under the urban renewal scheme. However, to be effective, the scheme must be limited in its application and I do not intend to extend it to any further towns. In these circumstances, the question of a visit to Tuam in connection with the scheme does not arise.
