Vol. 453 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers (Resumed). - Official Receptions.

Mary O'Rourke

Question:

12 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Finance the number of official receptions hosted since the change of Government on 15 December 1994; the number planned for the remainder of 1995; the events or meetings these receptions mark; and the number and purpose of such receptions during 1994. [7957/95]

The Minister for Finance has not hosted official receptions since 15 December 1994. On 26 May the Minister intends to hold a reception in Washington for the Irish staffs of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, as part of his official duties at the US Conference on Trade and Investment in Northern Ireland and the Border counties. The Minister has no immediate plans to host any other receptions this year. There were no official receptions in 1994.

I would point out, on behalf of my colleague, Deputy O'Rourke, who has tabled a similar question to all relevant Government Departments, that she is not particularly concerned whether they dance at these receptions.
