Vol. 453 No. 6

Written Answers. - Permitted Tonnage for Vehicles.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

71 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for the Environment the permitted tonnage for vehicles on the roads of each country in the European Union. [9667/95]

The statutory weight limits for vehicles on roads in Ireland are contained in the Road Traffic (Construction, Equipment and Use of Vehicles) (Amendment) Regulations, 1992. I am sending the Deputy a leaflet which summarises the position. Information in relation to the permitted weight limits in other EU member states is being assembled and will be forwarded to the Deputy as soon as possible.
