Eoin Ryan

Question:

91 Mr. E. Ryan asked the Minister for Health in view of the reply to Parliamentary Question 174 of 23 May 1995, and Parliamentary Questions 54 and 64 of 25 May 1995, if his Department or any of its agencies received complaints regarding sheep dips in 1989; if so, the action, if any, that was taken; if his Department or any of its agencies had the 1993 case referred to in the former question referred to them; the reason the Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry was not advised of information available to his Department in view of the assurances given that Departments were in close contact on the issue; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10100/95]

Limerick East): The contacts between the Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry and the National Drugs Advisory Board in relation to the 1989 and 1993 cases were detailed by my colleague, the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry in reply to a question from the Deputy on 30 May 1995. The National Drugs Advisory Board has regular contact with the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Food on matters pertaining to veterinary products, and all relevant information on these matters is available at all times to both that Department and the Department of Health.
