Vol. 454 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Cork Road Allocations.

Joe Walsh

Question:

106 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for the Environment the allocation for county roads made available to Cork County Council in each of the years 1994 and 1995; and the percentage difference between both years. [10340/95]

Grant payments to county councils for non-national roads are not subdivided on the basis of road categories. Grant payments to Cork County Council for all non-national roads in 1994 amounted to £11.087 million, including a once-off sum of almost £2 million from the proceeds of the tax amnesty. The 1995 grant allocation to the council amounts to £9.852 million, a reduction of 11 per cent on the total 1994 grants, but a significant increase on the underlying figures for that year.
