Question:44 Miss Coughlan asked the Minister for Education when the review of school transport will take place as promised at a recent parents conference in March in Mallow, County Cork. [10271/95]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 24 and 44 together. Following the publication of the White Paper and taking account of the consultants' reports on the matter, a committee will be set up in the near future to review the operation of the school transport scheme.
The committee will include representatives from my Department, from Bus Éireann and from the transport liaison officers. Arrangements will be put in place to ensure that all other interested parties will be given an opportunity to make a contribution to the review. At this stage I am not in a position to say when the review will be completed.
