Question:

173 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade the value of export credit insurance cover for each of the years from 1992 and to date in 1995; the total amount of outstanding liabilities; if he has satisfied himself with the existing export credit insurance scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10941/95]

The value of export credit insurance cover provided for each of the years 1992 to date was as follows: 1992, £9.5 million; 1993, £10.4 million; 1994, £11.5 million; 1995, £3 million to 31 May 1995.

The outstanding liability under the export credit insurance scheme, at the end of each of the years 1992 to date, was as follows: 1992, £14.1 million; 1993, £21.5 million; 1994, £19.6 million; 1995, £21 million at 31 May 1995.

I am satisfied with the existing export credit insurance scheme and I have no plans to change its current operation.
