Question:

181 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade the efforts, if any which are being made by him to effectively co-ordinate State agency efforts concerned with exporting, in particular agencies such as ABT, Forbairt, An Bord Bia and IDA Ireland. [11013/95]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 34 and 181 together.

The foreign earnings committee was established to co-ordinate all aspects of State promotion overseas of our economic and commercial interests including trade. The committee is chaired by myself and consists of senior officials from relevant Government Departments as well as the chief executives of our main overseas promotional agencies. In addition, it is the Government's policy to achieve the greatest possible consolidation of resources in "Ireland Houses" wherever possible. In accordance with this policy it has been decided that the new embassies proposed for Hungary, the Czech Republic and Malaysia will also be developed along the lines of the Ireland House concept.
