The staff complement of Teagasc at any time is the numbers of employees approved by my Department and the Department of Finance.
At present the approved staffing is made up of 1,366 permanent staff and 78 contract staff. Teagasc also employ seasonal workers whose numbers fluctuate during the year. The maximum number employed at any one time in 1994 was 72. In addition Teagasc has 22 persons employed for whom posts were not authorised. This matter is under review by my Department and the Department of Finance.
