Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Quill — the plans by the Shell Company to dump an oil rig in the North Sea with radioactive sludge and other toxic substances on board which could seriously damage the marine environment; (2) Deputy Ned O'Keeffe — the cost to the State of old motor cars arising from the £1,000 grant payable in respect of ten year old motor cars; (3) Deputy Ring — the case of a foreign national (details supplied) whose application for a work permit has been refused; (4) Deputy Keogh — the lack of school places and facilities for students who have been expelled because of disruptive behaviour and the lack of a comprehensive school psychological service to cope with these and other children with special needs; (5) Deputy Brendan Smith — the need to approve Virginia sewerage scheme, County Cavan; (6) Deputy Noel Ahern — the privatisation of the outdoor advertising section of CIE; (7) Deputy Browne (Wexford) — the need to clarify the actual amounts allocated to Arklow Port and Wicklow Port and for coastal protection in Bray; (8) Deputy Joe Walsh — the need to end the impasse over the non-payment of social welfare benefits to Irish Press Group journalists following the refusal of their appeals to the Department of Social Welfare.

The matters raised by the following Deputies have been selected for discussion: Deputies Brendan Smith, Keogh, Joe Walsh and Browne (Wexford).
