Vol. 455 No. 3

Written Answers - Public Sector Recruitment Embargo.

Peadar Clohessy

Question:

20 Mr. Clohessy asked the Minister for Health the implications of the public sector embargo on the genetic counselling service that was to be provided in Crumlin Hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12050/95]

Limerick East): Having examined the implications of the Government decision in relation to recruitment in the health services the Government has now decided that recruitment may proceed in the health service in line with the parameters on overall public spending set down in the Government decision. My Department is currently considering the prioritisation of certain areas and health service agencies will shortly be notified of the position in relation to all planned developments.
