Ahern asked the Minister for Education the current position with the application from a school (details supplied) in Dublin 1 for grant assistance towards a major renewal, extension and renovation programme, including fire safety work recently completed; and if she will make a statement on the matter. My Department has not received an application from the school in question for grant assistance towards a major renewal, extension and renovation programme.
However, an application for grant-assistance towards the installation of a security alarm system has recently been received in my Department. This application is currently under consideration and a decision will be conveyed to the school authority in due course.
