Vol. 455 No. 8

Written Answers. - Removal of Tombstone.

Mary Wallace

Question:

118 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if his attention has been drawn to the removal of Barnewall Tombstone from Crickstown graveyard at Curragha, County Meath, in June 1995; and if it is his intention to ensure the return of this tombstone to Crickstown graveyard. [12664/95]

I am aware of the removal of the Barnewall Tombstone from Crickstown graveyard. Representatives of the National Monuments and Historic Properties Service and the National Museum have inspected the slab and are satisfied that it is not in any danger. The future permanent location of the slab is under consideration.
