Vol. 455 No. 8

Written Answers. - Genealogical Office Appointment.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

122 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht when it is proposed to appoint a Chief Herald at the Genealogical Office; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12982/95]

I have recently appointed Dr. Patricia Donlon, Director of the National Library of Ireland to act as Chief Herald and Genealogical Officer. The filling of a vacant keeper position in the Genealogical Office of the National Library has been the subject of discussions with the relevant staff representative organisation and I expect that an appointment to this post will be made in the near future.
