Vol. 455 No. 8

Written Answers. - School Accommodation.

Tony Gregory

Question:

202 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Education when her Department's building section will approve the plans for additional accommodation at St. Paul's Christian Brothers School, Dublin 7; and if retrospective grant-aid for the fire damage of 1988 can be made available to the school. [12964/95]

The present position is that developed sketch scheme proposals have been submitted to the Department for approval. These have been the subject of detailed examination and correspondence with the School Management. It is hoped that the project can proceed to the next stage of the planning process in the immediate future.

As regards a retrospective grant towards fire damage repairs in 1988, the position is that because of the limited resources available and the ever increasing demands for accommodation and other capital resources, it is not possible to accede to requests for retrospective funding.
