Vol. 455 No. 8

Written Answers. - Boston Irish Immigration Centre.

Colm M. Hilliard

Question:

20 Mr. Hilliard asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs if he intends to increase funding to the Boston-based Irish Immigration Centre to enable it to provide a part-time job counsellor and generally increase the facilities at the centre. [13052/95]

I would like to pay tribute to the excellent work carried out by the many immigrant groups in the United States including the Irish Immigration Centre, Boston. The Boston Centre has received grants from the fund established to provide support to Irish immigrant groups. Applications for assistance in 1995 are at present under consideration and the application from the Boston based group will be considered as sympathetically as possible.
