Vol. 455 No. 8

Written Answers. - Medical Cards.

Éamon Ó Cuív

Question:

98 Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Health whether health boards are obliged to give details to a medical card holder of the years that he has held a medical card if this is required by the Department of Social Welfare to enable them to make a refund of payments of Youth Employment Levy and Health Levy not liable from a person who holds a medical card. [13017/95]

Limerick East): My Department has been in contact with the health boards in this regard. While this matter is not specifically provided for in the relevant legislation, each board has confirmed that they do provide confirmation to medical card holders that they have held a medical card.
