69 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for the Environment the current position regarding the application for funding under the Cohesion Fund in respect of the Lough Ree catchment protection scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12477/95]
Lough Ree catchment protection scheme comprises ten proposed projects for new and upgraded waste-water collection and treatment systems, together with a comprehensive assessment programme for the management of the lake and its catchment. The scheme has been submitted to the EU Commission for financing under the Cohesion Fund and a decision is awaited. Funding for the individual projects will be considered when the Cohesion Fund application is determined.
