Question:

139 Mr. E. Byrne asked the Minister for Education if she will review the decision of her officials to refuse an application for a higher education grant to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 8. [13384/95]

Under the terms of the higher education grant schemes a grant is not payable in respect of a second period of college attendance at any particular level whether or not the first period was grant aided.

As the person in question has already completed an undergraduate course and been awarded a degree he is ineligible for student support in respect of attendance at the further undergraduate course he proposes to pursue in Dublin Institute of Technology Kevin Street.

140 Mr. E. Byrne asked the Minister for Education if she will review the decision of Dublin Corporation to refuse a grant for higher education to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12. [13385/95]

Having made inquiries into this case, it has been established that Dublin Corporation are prepared to review the application concerned when they are satisfied that the change of circumstances in relation to the reckonable income in this case is not temporary.
