160 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Marine if he will provide extra staffing to ensure that passenger licence applications are dealt with promptly by his Department in view of the fact that there is an unprecedented delay in processing these applications. [13950/95]

I am very much aware that there are severe staff shortages in the Marine Survey Office which deals with such matters and I am already taking the necessary steps to ensure that these are remedied as quickly as possible.
