Vol. 456 No. 4

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy O'Dea — the need to provide proper detention facilities for young offenders in view of the increase in crime attributable to such offenders; (2) Deputy Ó Cuív — the change in regulations in relation to community employment schemes providing that only 25 per cent of the workers may be retained on any extension granted to a scheme for another year; (3) Deputy Keogh — the implications for universities of proposals to control selection of their governing bodies; (4) Deputy O'Donnell — the need to establish procedures for the reporting of child sexual abuse.

I have selected for discussion the matters raised by Deputies Keogh, O'Dea, O'Donnell and Ó Cuív.
