Vol. 456 No. 6

Written Answers. - Land Registry Validation.

Mary O'Rourke

Question:

128 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Justice if she will ensure that the land registry dealing authenticated by the United Kingdom authorities for a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath will be swiftly validated by the Irish Land Registry Office. [14329/95]

I am informed by the Registrar of titles that there is no dealing pending in the Land Registry in the name of the person referred to by the Deputy. However, an application for registration in respect of folio 1139F County Westmeath, which coincides with the address supplied by the Deputy, was rejected by the Land Registry on 21 July 1995, in accordance with section 21 (1) of the Registration of Title Act, 1964, on the grounds that the court order has to be ratified by a court within this jurisdiction.
