Vol. 456 No. 7

Written Answers. - Forest Planting.

Godfrey Timmins

Question:

53 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the blanket planting of trees is causing health problems for asthma sufferers; and the consultation, if any, his Department has had with the Department of Health regarding the problems that such planting is creating. [14568/95]

My Department has received no evidence linking asthma problems to forest planting. If the Deputy has such evidence and if he would forward it to me I would be glad to have the matter examined by the appropriate authority.
