Vol. 456 No. 8

Written Answers. - Interference with Witnesses.

Tony Killeen

Question:

62 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Justice the response, if any, that has been sent to a solicitor (details supplied) in answer to complaints that certain witnesses had been interfered with, thus preventing their co-operation in a serious Garda disciplinary investigation. [14807/95]

I have been informed by the Garda authorities that the person concerned has been represented by two firms of solicitors. A number of replies were forwarded from the Garda authorities to the solicitors concerned. It is not clear from the details supplied in the Deputy's question which of the solicitors he is referring to or, indeed, what particular correspondence is being referred to. Perhaps the Deputy would write to me about the matter and provide more details.
