Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Lawlor — the concern caused by the location of a methadone and needle exchange unit at James Connolly Hospital without prior local consultation; (2) Deputy Kenneally — the need for additional accommodation at Waterpark College, Waterford; (3) Deputy Molloy — Cé chomh práinneach is atá an t-iarratas ó Ghaelscoil Mhic Amhlaidh go gceannódh an Roinn Oideachais suíomh oiriúnach buan le scoil nua ocht ranganna a thógáil agus chun a chinntiú go mbeadh an scoil nua san áireamh i gclár tógála na Roinne Oideachais do 1996 agus airgead curtha ar fáil ins na meastacháin dá réir; (4) Deputy Eric Byrne — the need to establish a joint task force between the Garda and the Revenue Commissioners to trace illegal profits from drug dealing; (5) Deputy Michael Kitt — the decision to seek refunds from farmers in respect of 1994 extensification premiums or to deduct the amount with interest from 1995 special schemes payments; (6) Deputy Martin — the difficulties at the Liebert Company, County Cork; (7) Deputy McCreevy — the need to assist firms facing difficulties due to the high value of the punt against sterling; (8) Deputy Geoghegan-Quinn — the reported proposal to charge higher premia to older people joining the VHI; (9) Deputy Cowen — the failure to negotiate a package to help the food sector to combat its sterling disadvantage; (10) Deputy Joe Walsh — the closure of the customs office in Castletownbere, County Cork; and (11) Deputy Deasy — the action being taken on foot of the recommendations by the jury at the inquest into the canoeing tragedy at Dunmore East.

The matters raised by Deputies McCreevy, Lawlor, Geoghegan-Quinn and Martin have been selected for discussion.
