Question:104 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice when a new sergeant will be appointed to a town (details supplied) in County Mayo in view of the fact that the current sergeant is retiring. [15213/95]
Written Answers. - Appointment of Garda Sergeant.
The Garda authorities are responsible for the detailed allocation of Garda manpower and resources to individual areas. They have informed me that the present sergeant attached to the station referred to in the question is due to retire on 15 December 1995.
The Garda authorities have also informed me that they will consider filling this vacancy with due regard to the need to fill other sergeant vacancies in the Mayo division.
