Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Molloy — an t-iarratas ó Ghaelscoil Mhic Amhlaidh go gceannódh an Roinn Oideachais suíomh oiriúnach buan le scoil nua ocht ranganna a thógáil; (2) Deputy Joe Walsh — the closure of the customs office in Castletownbere, County Cork; (3) Deputy Batt O'Keeffe — the need for funding for an obstetrics unit on the grounds of University Hospital, Cork; (4) Deputy Leonard — the reclassification of disadvantaged areas; (5) Deputy Dermot Ahern — the working party set up regarding the taxation of cross-Border workers; (6) Deputy Kenneally — the need for additional accommodation at St. Declan's community college, Kilmacthomas, County Waterford; (7) Deputy Kirk — the steps being taken to resolve the current dispute affecting agricultural and horticultural colleges; (8) Deputy Ellis — the reason the contract for the erection of the courthouse at Carrick-on-Shannon, County Leitrim, was not awarded to the lowest acceptable tender; and whether there has been a change in the criteria regarding open competitive tendering; (9) Deputy Frances Fitzgerald — the current dispute regarding the safety of certain contraceptive pills; (10) Deputy Broughan — the provision of youth services and facilities in the Belcamp parish in Darndale, Dublin 17, and the Foxfield parish in Kilbarrack, Dublin 13; (11) Deputy Eric Byrne — the need to ensure that the ban on the importation, sale and possession of fireworks is fully implemented; (12) Deputy Kathleen Lynch — the need to place the use of closed circuit television within a strict statutory framework to protect the privacy of the individual; (13) Deputy Raphael Burke — the need to acknowledge the contribution of the United Nations on its 50th anniversary and recommit Ireland to ongoing membership and full participation in a reinvigorated United Nations in the years ahead; (14) Deputy O'Dea — the need to control the supply and distribution of the heroin substitute, methadone, to prevent black marketeering and illegal use; (15) Deputy Seán Ryan — the proposals, if any, currently under examination for a second commercial airport at Baldonnel, County Dublin; (16) Deputy Moffatt — the need to ensure the retention of Beleek Wood, Ballina, as a public amenity solely for tourist and recreational purposes; (17) Deputy Foley — the need for funding for a diabetic unit at Tralee General Hospital; (18) Deputy Michael P. Kitt — the decision to seek refunds from farmers in respect of 1994 extensification premiums or deduct the amount with interest from 1995 special schemes payments.

The matters raised by the following Deputies have been selected for discussions: Deputies Raphael Burke, Molloy, Leonard and Kirk.
