Question:

64 Ms O'Donnell asked the Minister for Health the plans, if any, his Department has to review the mechanisms available to general practitioners to enter the GMS scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15896/95]

Limerick East): I propose to take Questions Nos. 60 and 64 together. Following a recent meeting between representatives of the Irish Medical Organisation and officials of my Department, it has been agreed that a working group will be established for the purposes of reviewing the provisions governing general practitioner entry to the general Medical Services Scheme. It is intended to commence this process shortly and I will consider the overall position when the review is completed.
