203 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Education if she recognises the long serving and continuing role of the Federation of Transport Operators, FOTO, in the school transportation service; and the plans, if any, she has to include a FOTO representative in the review group to deal with this matter. I can assure the Deputy that I recognise fully the role of the Federation of Transport Operators (FOTO) in the operation of the school transport scheme.
Accordingly, FOTO, along with other interested parties, will be given every opportunity, as part of the consultative process, to put forward their views to the review group on school transport. I have no plans, however, to include a representative of FOTO on the review committee.
My Department will give public notice in due course, setting out the terms of reference of the review group, and inviting submissions.
