Question:

285 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the number of personal advisers that are employed in the office of the Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, indicating the number of non-civil servants; their location; the cost to the State; the duration of their contracts; and the names of these employees. [16060/95]

Staff appointed to the office of the Minister of State from outside the Civil Service are:

1. Mr. Flor Healy, special adviser was appointed with effect from 1 June, 1995, at a salary of £32,315 per annum. He is based in Agriculture House.

2. Ms. Marion Dennehy, personal assistant was appointed with effect from 9 January, 1995, at a salary of £13,937 per annum. She is based in Co. Kerry.

3. Mr. Michael Kelly, personal secretary was appointed with effect from 3 January, 1995, at a salary of £16,697 per annum. He is based on Co. Kerry.

4. Two civilian drivers were appointed with effect from 30 December, 1994, at a salary of £13,185 per annum. They are Mr. Eamonn Sweeney and Mr. Jeremiah Brick. Their headquarters is Agriculture House.

The above contracts of these staff terminate not later than the date on which the present Minister of State, Mr. Jimmy Deenihan, TD, ceases to hold office.
