294 Mr. Cowen asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will pay travelling expenses to the personal secretary of the Minister of State at his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16021/95]

Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry (Mr. Yates):

The Department of Finance sanctioned the payment of travel and subsistence in this case in May 1995.

The person concerned is not satisfied with the rates sanctioned by the Department of Finance and has to date refused to accept payments.
