Vol. 457 No. 7

Written Answers. - Labour Force Statistics.

Jim Mitchell

Question:

68 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Taoiseach the total number of claimants for unemployment benefit and unemployment assistance and pre-retirement allowances and credits with addresses in the Inchicore and Kilmainham areas (details supplied) of Dublin; and the percentage of the total workforce that the aggregate of these figures represent in the area. [16202/95]

The exact information requested by the Deputy is not available.

The most recently available information on unemployment rates for small areas comes from the 1991 Census of Population. The following table shows, for the wards of Kilmainham A, Kilmainham B and Kilmainham C, the numbers of persons aged 15 years or over whose principal economic status was at work or unemployed in 1991 and the percentage of the labour force who were unemployed.
