Vol. 457 No. 8

Written Answers. - School Transport.

Mary Wallace

Question:

126 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for Education her views on the adequacy of the school transport provided for a person with disability (details supplied) in County Cork; her response to the child's needs; and if she will have arrangements made to provide transport appropriate to those needs. [16470/95]

As I indicated to the House in my reply to a written question on 24 October 1995, I requested my Department's transport agents, Bus Éireann, to investigate whether the existing service could be restructured to facilitate this particular child and minimise the inconvenience to the other children on the route.

I expect to receive a report from Bus Éireann shortly and I hope that this will lead to a resolution of the difficulties in this case.
