Question:73 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Justice the number of people charged with offences who availed of bail from January 1995, to date on a monthly basis; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [16459/95]
Written Answers. - Court Statistics.
Court statistics are not maintained in such a way as to give the information sought by the Deputy. The compilation of such statistics would involve the manual tracking of each individual case. To extract the information sought by the Deputy would require the diversion of scarce staff resources from urgent court work and I do not consider that this would be justified.
