Will the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications make a statement on the resignation of the chairman of CIE and the continuing difficulties on the board of CIE caused by a lack of morale among the staff of CIE and the apparent continuing lack of any coherent national transport policy?
Having considered the matter fully, I do not consider it to be one contemplated by the Standing Order. Therefore, I cannot grant leave to move the motion.
Does the Minister intend making a statement to the House on this matter at any stage today?
Members generally have many ways of raising those matters in the House. They ought to avail of these opportunities.
