Vol. 458 No. 3

Written Answers. - TB Testing.

James Leonard

Question:

99 Mr. Leonard asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if the deer in the Dartry demesne were ever tested for TB. [16952/95]

I understand that deer in the Dartry demesne have not been tested for TB. My Department is currently investigating TB in wild deer in another part of County Monaghan and, depending on the results obtained, the position relating to deer in Dartry demesne will be considered further. My Department is currently considering detailed arrangements for the introduction of a TB testing regime for deer on a national basis.
