Question:65 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the action, if any, he proposes to take regarding the recent layoffs at the Woco plant in Carrick-on-Shannon, County Leitrim. [17105/95]
Written Answers. - Carrick-on-Shannon (Leitrim) Plant.
I have been advised that the recent lay-offs at Woco Industrial Components Limited. Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim, are of a temporary nature. Because of a temporary lack of demand for certain automotive components the company placed twenty of their one hundred and eighteen permanent workers on voluntary lay-off for a two week period commencing 6 November, 1995. However, 11 of these returned to work on 13 November, 1995. I understand that the remaining nine are due to return on 20 November, 1995.
