143 Miss Flaherty asked the Minister for Education if she will extend the schools security scheme operating in Finglas East to Finglas West in view of the fact that the current and proposed security arrangements are inadequate. [18221/95]
A pilot security project, covering a number of schools in the East Finglas area, was initiated in 1993 on a temporary basis. It is being continued for a further year. In view of the significant cost implications, I have no plans to extend the scheme to any other school or area at this time. However, the matter will be kept under review in the light of available resources.
