Vol. 459 No. 3

Request to Move Adjournment of Dáil Under Standing Order 30.

Before coming to the Order of Business I propose to deal with a notice of motion under Standing Order 30 from Deputy Tom Kitt. I now call on Deputy Kitt to state the matter of which he has given notice.

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil to discuss the urgent matter of the escalation of the Dunnes Stores dispute and the necessity for the Minister for Enterprise and Employment to immediately intervene and in the public interest and in accordance with the Industrial Relations Act order an investigation by the Labour Court into the dispute.

The matter, having been considered fully, is not considered to be contemplated by Standing Order 30, therefore, leave cannot be granted to move the motion.
