Vol. 459 No. 7

Written Answers. - Foreign Affairs Bills.

Ivor Callely

Question:

58 Mr. Callely asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs the number of Bills published by his Department for each of the years 1992 to date in 1995; the titles of the Bills; the number of these Bills that were passed by both Houses of the Oireachtas; if he has satisfied himself with progress in 1995; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18685/95]

The Department of Foreign Affairs has published the following Bills all of which have been passed by the Houses of the Oireachtas:

The Diplomatic and Consular Officers (Provision of Services) Bill, 1993

The European Communities (Amendment) Bills of 1992, 1993, 1994 and 1995

The Eleventh Amendment of the Constitution Bill, 1992.

[Since the Office of the Tánaiste was established in 1993, the Ethics in Public Office Bill was published in 1994 and enacted in 1995.]

I am satisfied that both the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Office of the Tánaiste dealt with these Bills in a timely and efficient manner.
