Vol. 459 No. 7

Written Answers. - Loughrea (Galway) School.

Michael P. Kitt

Question:

9 Mr. M. Kitt asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the health officer's report on St. Brigid's Vocational School, Loughrea, County Galway; and when a decision will be made to provide additional toilet facilities and wash-hand basins. [18397/95]

The report referred to by the Deputy, which indicates that the present toilet facilities and wash-hand basins are insufficient, was submitted to my Department on 4 December 1995 through the Vocational Education Committee.

The provision of additional toilet facilities including wash-hand basins is being considered as part of an evaluation of a proposal by the County Galway vocational education committee to provide additional accommodation in the school. It is hoped that this evaluation will be completed in the next four to six weeks.

My Department will be in contact with County Galway vocational education committee when the evaluation of the vocational education committee's proposals is completed.
