, Limerick East): The health strategy noted that there are a number of services, including paramedical services, for which no eligibility criteria, or rules governing charges, are set down in legislation. The strategy also stated that because these services have developed in the absence of legislative guidelines there are considerable differences from area to area in relation to the extent to which they are provided and who is entitled to receive them. It said that national guidelines on eligibility, which will be applied in a uniform manner in all areas, will be introduced in respect of services where legislative provisions are absent.
