Vol. 459 No. 8

Written Answers. - Road Traffic Law.

Tony Killeen

Question:

93 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for the Environment the plans, if any, he has to amend legislation regarding the wearing of helmets by motorcyclists and their passengers. [19050/95]

The driver of a motor cycle and a passenger on a motor cycle are already required by law to wear a crash helmet bearing an approved standard mark while the motor cycle is being used in a public place. I have no proposals to change the law in this regard.
