Vol. 460 No. 3

Written Answers. - Annagry (Donegal) Garda Station.

Kathleen Lynch

Question:

416 Kathleen Lynch asked the Minister for Justice when it is proposed to fill the vacant position of Garda Sergeant at Annagry Garda station, County Donegal. [1344/96]

The Garda authorities are responsible for the detailed allocation of Garda personnel and resources to individual areas. They have informed me that following the retirement of the sergeant at Annagry Garda station on 6 June 1995 the present Garda strength at the station is one garda.

I have also been informed by the Garda authorities that they will consider filling this vacancy with due regard to the need to fill other sergeant vacancies in the Donegal division.

Question:

417 Kathleen Lynch asked the Minister for Justice the plans, if any, she has to have improvements carried out to the Garda station at Annagry, County Donegal. [1345/96]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the Garda housing officer will be visiting this building in the near future. A decision in relation to necessary works will be made following his examination.
