Question:

138 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Finance the amount of money provided by taxation, EU funding, revenue from sale of services and any other source for current and capital spending in 1995; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1113/96]

The Exchequer Returns published on 3 January and the White Paper Estimates of Receipts and Expenditure presented to the House last Friday indicate that Exchequer receipts in 1995 were as follows:

Exchequer issues to Supply Services are based on the net funding requirements reported by Departments after deduction of Appropriations-in-Aid to their Votes, PRSI income, etc. These revenues are estimated at £2,591 million in 1995.
EU inflows benefiting the Exchequer are taken to account as Exchequer capital receipts, as Departmental Appropriations-in-Aid, and in some cases (eg FÁS) as part of the resources of the individual State agencies concerned. Details of EU receipts by the individual State Agencies are not yet to hand, but the present assessment of EU inflows to Departmental Appropriations-in-Aid and of Exchequer Capital Receipts from European Regional Development Fund and the Cohesion Fund is as follows:
