Vol. 460 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Visa Application.

Tony Gregory

Question:

75 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice whether a visa will be granted to a Russian family (details supplied) who wish to make a friendship/exchange visit to Ireland. [1498/96]

In November 1995, the persons in question applied to my Department for a visa to enter the State for a three month period. On the basis of the information supplied with the applications, visas were refused. While it is always open to the applicants — or a person acting on their behalf — to request a review of that decision, I would point out that unless significant new information is provided in support of the applications, it is unlikely that the original decision to refuse visas will be altered.
