36 Mr. M. Kitt asked the Minister for Health if funding will be provided in 1996 to the Western Health Board to build a welfare home in Ballinasloe, County Galway; the current position regarding the application; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1621/96]

Minister for Health (Mr. Noonan,

Limerick East): Capital funding earmarked for the Western Health Board in 1996 does not allow for the provision of a home for the elderly in Ballinasloe. Future developments will depend on the capital funding available and the internal priorities of the Western Health Board.
